Off the Beaten Path: Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is an easy and fun way to explore nature. A saying goes: "If you can walk, you can snowshoe". Snowshoeing is the perfect activity for recreation and building physical strength. Discover places that are off-trail and hard to reach by foot. A pair of snowshoes will take you into the forest and on top of the fells - even though there is a lot of snow.

You can rent a pair of snowshoes and ski poles at our rental service and head to the fells and forests. Our three nature trails (1 km /3 km /6 km) around the Ahopää fell are well marked and offer you great snowshoeing adventures. You can also try our marked (2 km) route to the top of the Kiilopää fell (546 m), where you can enjoy the beautiful and peaceful scenery. Trails leave from the Fell Centre.

Visit also the Tieva Tupa Chapel. The Kiilo-Tieva trail is a new one, and offers a winter walking route 11km (return) but also a shorter route of 3km. The trail is regulary maintained. MAP

We have guided snowshoeing trips in our weekly schedule - get them here and join us on a day trip!
