On August 31, 2024, the world’s northernmost forest hotel will be set up in the stunning fell landscapes of Kiilopää, nexto to the Urho Kekkonen National Park. This is an experience you don’t want to miss. The 400-capacity forest hotel will capture the spirit of the fells and the vibrant colors of the approaching autumn.

In addition to an unforgettable experience, there will be a variety of diverse programs: join a star-gazing excursion, learn outdoor skills, relax with fell yoga, and dance wildly in the forest. You can repair broken camping gear in our repair workshop and sell unnecessary items at the camping flea market. At the end of the day, the gentle heat of the smoke sauna will soothe your body and mind.

The forest hotel offers both guided and self-directed activities from Thursday to Sunday. Some activities require registration and are scheduled, while others operate on a non-stop basis.

You can reserve your own “room” in the forest hotel from the accommodations provided by the organizers, such as a camping tent, or  hammock. And the best part: staying at the forest hotel is completely free!

It’s worth traveling a long distance to reach the Kiilopää Forest Hotel. In addition to Kiilopää’s weekly program, there will be “Sleep a Night Outdoors” themed activities earlier in the same week and in the days following the forest hotel event. You can stay comfortably with your family or friends in the Kiilopää cabins, which offer traditional double rooms as well as four-person rooms.
