Data Breach

We regret to inform you that the provider of the hotel system used by Suomen Latu Kiilopää announced on October 8th that a data breach has occurred, affecting Suomen Latu Kiilopää customers.

Who is affected

Based on current information, the data leak affects customers with reservations scheduled for arrival on or after October 6th.

The data potentially exposed includes customer details associated with reservations, contact information, and reservation dates.

Customer payment details (such as credit card information) are not stored in the system in question, so they could not have been leaked.

However, your reservation’s arrival and departure dates could be used in fraudulent messages attempting to obtain the recipient’s payment details.

Suomen Latu Kiilopää never requests credit card details or online banking credentials via telephone, email, text message, or WhatsApp.

If you notice any suspicious messages or phishing attempts related to your accommodation reservation, please contact us via email at kiilopaa@suomenlatu.fi.

Our system provider has identified and resolved the issue. The provider is investigating the incident in cooperation with its cybersecurity partner.

Update: October 9 at 1:03 PM. Following the data breach, it has come to light that customers have received a suspicious WhatsApp message asking them to confirm a booking. Fell Centre Kiilopää did not send this message, which requests urgent booking confirmation. This is a scam attempt. We never request payment or card details via a link in a WhatsApp message, for example. Please do not open any links in the message or enter your card details.
